Growing up in a family who were always involved in the outdoors, the surrounding natural environment played a major influence in Mhairi’s life and work. Throughout the years trees and the winding paths between became a recurring theme, even while exploring other topics. Mixing a little memory, mystery and magic into the work, her desire is to invite the viewer to take a step forward and connect.

Since graduating from Cumbria College of Art and Design with a BA(Hons) in Contemporary Applied Art she has pursued a varied career in the arts and discovered a passion for working in the community. Watching people from all walks of life connect, flourish and grow as they interact in projects and workshops, she truly believes in “Art for All”.
